Apple AI Engine

Apple might be building its own AI ‘answer engine’

Technology

So, Apple is apparently stepping up its game in the AI arena. I've been hearing whispers, and now it seems like they're putting together a dedicated team to create something similar to ChatGPT. It looks like the team, known as "Answers, Knowledge, and Information," is focused on creating an "answer engine" that will be able to use information from all over the web to answer questions.

Think about it: it might be a standalone app, which I think would be pretty cool. Or, they could weave it into Siri, Safari, and other Apple services. That would make those apps way more useful, right?

However, the details are still pretty sparse, so it's hard to say exactly what Apple has in mind. What I do know is that it sounds like a pretty ambitious project, and it could have a big impact on the AI landscape. But that's just my opinion.

Now, what's also interesting is that Apple is hiring for this team. They're looking for people who know their way around search algorithms and engine development, which suggests they're serious about building something from the ground up.

I've been waiting for a real, AI-powered update to Siri, since it's been delayed several times. With this new engine, maybe we'll finally get something that feels truly intelligent and personalized. Plus, there's that whole thing with Google's antitrust defeat that might force Apple to rethink its search deal. Maybe this is their way of preparing for that possibility.
