Apple Smart Home Hub Release Imminent
Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its highly anticipated smart home hub, potentially as early as the end of the year. Initial rumors emerged in 2022, suggesting a product heavily reliant on Apple Intelligence. However, development has faced challenges, primarily linked to Siri upgrades, resulting in previous delays.
A Phased Approach
The latest reports indicate a two-pronged release strategy. A more basic version is expected later this year, while a significantly more advanced model, featuring robotic arm capabilities and desk mobility, is slated for release within one to two years. To meet the ambitious end-of-year deadline, some advanced features of the robotic arm version will reportedly be omitted from the initial release, potentially appearing in future iterations.
Design and Features
While official details remain scarce, the hub is rumored to blend design elements from the HomePod and iPad, boasting a seven-inch display and a dedicated operating system known as homeOS. The user interface is expected to mirror the iPhone's StandBy mode. The product will directly compete with established players such as Amazon's Echo and Google's Nest Hub, but the high-end robotic model is rumored to carry a hefty $1000 price tag.
