ASUS NUC 14 Pro Mini PC gets AI
ASUS has announced a significant upgrade to its popular NUC 14 Pro mini PC lineup. The new ASUS NUC Pro AI boasts impressive AI capabilities thanks to a built-in neural processing unit (NPU) capable of an astounding 48 trillion operations per second (TOPS). This powerful addition enhances the mini PC's processing power, opening doors to various AI-driven applications.
Performance and Portability
Powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V processor, the NUC Pro AI offers robust performance within its remarkably compact form factor. Measuring only 1.3 inches in height, this mini PC is incredibly portable, ideal for users seeking a powerful yet unobtrusive computing solution. The device retains much of the functionality of its predecessor, including a familiar array of ports and internal components. Advanced thermal management solutions address the challenges of cooling such a powerful system in a small chassis.
Security and Convenience
ASUS has prioritized security with features such as Secure Boot, built-in speakers and voice command-ready microphones, and a fingerprint reader. A trusted platform module (TPM) further enhances security through cryptographic measures. For user convenience, the NUC Pro AI features tool-less upgrades and is controlled via the ASUS Control Center. While this mini PC is unlikely to handle high-end gaming at maximum settings, it remains a versatile and powerful solution for a variety of tasks.
While a release date is yet to be announced, the arrival of the ASUS NUC Pro AI marks a significant step forward in the evolution of compact, AI-capable computing. Its launch follows closely on the heels of ASUS’s initial foray into the NUC market in 2024.
