ChatGPT Integrates Apps: Spotify, Zillow & More!
I have to say, things are moving fast in the world of AI! OpenAI is rolling out a new feature for ChatGPT that's pretty interesting: integrations with other apps directly within the chat interface. So, imagine being able to create a Spotify playlist or search for houses on Zillow without ever leaving your conversation with ChatGPT. Pretty cool, right? It's almost like those mini-apps you find in Telegram or Discord, but with AI superpowers!
Basically, you can keep chatting with ChatGPT while also telling it how to interact with other apps. Several services are already testing these built-in interfaces, and I have to say, it looks promising.
What Can You Do?
Let's talk about some of these integrations.
Spotify is a great example. You can link your account and then ask ChatGPT to find an artist's latest album or make a playlist of your favorite alternative rock bands. You can even ask for music or podcast recommendations based on your conversation! If you are a premium user, you can get custom playlists that you will probably enjoy!
Canva is another one. You can now create, preview, and edit designs right from ChatGPT. Just tell it to "Create an Instagram post for our upcoming sale," and it'll generate design previews that you can then refine with more prompts.
Even Zillow is getting in on the action. You can ask ChatGPT things like, "What homes can I afford nearby?" or "Show me homes with a big backyard," and it'll show you listings with photos, maps, and pricing. It's like having a real estate agent inside your chatbot!
Also, if you are planning a trip, now you can use Expedia inside ChatGPT to find specific types of stays, such as a hotel room in New York for under $400 in November. It will then find a list of hotels with flight options, a map and also prices and availability!
Coursera is also launching a ChatGPT app so you can access videos and information from the online learning platform. I think this will be very useful.
What's Coming Next?
OpenAI says that more apps are on the way, including Uber, DoorDash, Instacart, OpenTable, Target, Peloton, Tripadvisor, and AllTrails. That's a lot of potential! I'm really curious to see how these integrations will change the way we use ChatGPT.
Later this year, OpenAI will let more developers submit their own apps, which will appear in a directory. The company wants these apps to be "consistent, useful, and trustworthy" and to add real value to ChatGPT.
So, it seems like OpenAI is really trying to turn ChatGPT into a central hub for all sorts of tasks. I think it's a smart move, and I'm excited to see how it all develops. What do you think?
