Gemini can now generate presentations based on a topic

So, Google's Gemini is getting a serious upgrade! It looks like they're rolling out a cool new feature for Canvas, which, as you may know, is that interactive workspace inside the Gemini app. It's mainly aimed at students and employees, and I think it's a neat tool if you need to whip up presentations.

The big news? Gemini can now generate slides from just a prompt. I mean, how cool is that? You can even upload documents, spreadsheets, or research papers if you want the presentation to be based on something specific. I feel that this will be a pretty useful tool.

However, if you don't have a specific source in mind, you can just write a prompt like, "Create a presentation on [topic]". If you do have a file, you can upload it first and then ask Gemini to build the presentation around it.

Once generated, the presentation already has a theme and images! You can then export it to Google Slides to add your own finishing touches. It is also possible to edit and refine the decks as needed or collaborate with a teammate.

I believe that this new capability is available for both personal and Workspace accounts. Google launched Canvas earlier this year as a place for people to share their writing or code with Gemini for editing. And, if you throw in code or prompts for projects like apps or web pages, Canvas can even show you a visual representation of your design.
