Meta Blocks Apple Intelligence on Facebook and Other iOS Apps

Technology

Users who were anticipating leveraging Apple Intelligence features within Meta's iOS applications are facing a setback. Reports indicate that Apple Intelligence functionalities are currently non-operational across Meta's suite of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads.

This means that features like text generation, proofreading, and even the fun Genmoji creation are unavailable for use within these platforms. Previously, users could incorporate keyboard stickers and Memoji into Instagram Stories, but this functionality has also been disabled.

The reason behind this disruption appears to be Meta's decision to opt out of Apple Intelligence integration within their iOS apps. Apple allows developers to choose whether or not to incorporate Apple Intelligence into their applications.

A potential motivation for Meta's decision could be to promote the usage of its own Meta AI tools within its ecosystem. By limiting access to Apple Intelligence, Meta might be aiming to encourage users to adopt its native AI solutions for content creation and communication.

It's important to remember that technology is ever evolving, and this may be a temporary situation.
