OnePlus Pad 3: Powerful Battery, Enhanced Features

Technology

OnePlus has unveiled its latest tablet, the OnePlus Pad 3, boasting significant upgrades over its predecessor. The most striking feature is its substantial 12,140mAh battery, a considerable increase from the OnePlus Pad 2's 9,510mAh, all within a remarkably slim 5.97mm frame. This impressive power source is complemented by an included 80W fast charger.

Beyond the battery, the Pad 3 offers a compelling package. The display is a larger 13.2-inch 3.4K screen with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, surpassing the 12.1-inch display of its predecessor. Performance is handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Audio has also received an upgrade, with eight speakers now offering an immersive sound experience enhanced by the new Holo Audio feature for spatial sound customization.

AI and Productivity Enhancements

Running Oxygen OS 15, a customized version of Android 15, the OnePlus Pad 3 integrates several AI-powered features. These include AI Summarize, AI Writer, AI Translations, and AI Speak. Google Gemini support is also built-in, with the optional Smart Keyboard even featuring a dedicated Gemini key for quick access.

Productivity is further enhanced through features like improved multitasking capabilities, O+ Connect for file sharing with PCs, and a remote control feature for Mac control. These additions aim to provide a more laptop-like experience, particularly when used with the Smart Keyboard.

The OnePlus Pad 3, while not an iPad or Galaxy Tab, presents a strong alternative. Pre-orders commenced, with a release date set for July 8th. The tablet is priced at $699.99, with the Smart Keyboard and Folio Case available separately for $199.99 and $49.99 respectively. The previous Stylo 2 pen remains compatible.
