Ring adds AI-powered smart alerts: Know what's happening at a glance!
Exciting news for Ring users! The company is rolling out a new feature that uses AI to generate text descriptions for your alerts. Imagine getting a notification that says "A person is walking up the steps with a black dog" instead of just a generic "Motion detected." It could be a game-changer for knowing when to pay attention.
The descriptions are designed to be short and to the point, focusing on the main thing that triggered the alert and what's happening. For example, if the alert says, "Two people are peering into a white car in the driveway," you know it might be time to check your security cameras or even call the police.
While the new feature is pretty cool, it's currently only available for Ring Home Premium subscribers – the most expensive plan they offer. However, the good news is that you won't need to buy new hardware to use it. It works with all current Ring doorbells and cameras.
The feature is currently only available in English, but it's rolling out now. To enable it, simply head to the Ring app and look for the setting to turn it on.
